After receiving my medical degree in Germany in 1994, I moved with my wife and children to the Scottish Highlands to complete my medical residency in General Practice and was admitted there as a Member of Royal College of General Practice.

In 1999 I moved to the Hudson Valley to be closer to my wife’s family. I became Board certified in Family Medicine, and joined a private, four physician Family medicine practice with offices in Kingston, Saugerties, and Catskill, where I serve a large and diverse patient population.  I am passionate about Family Medicine. I treat multiple generations within families, have long established relationships with the families I serve, and have gained a profound understanding of the social, economic, spiritual, and cultural factors essential to physical and mental wellbeing. For the past 16 years, I have also had the pleasure of sharing my passion for Family Medicine as an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine for New York Medical College, training and supervising third year medical students in all aspects of Rural Medicine and Family Medicine. Over the years I have furthermore received additional training in classical homeopathy, anthroposophical medicine, shamanic medicine, Thai massage, yoga and meditation in order to better understand the rich fabric of human wellbeing.

In 2019 I began to seek additional modalities to meet the needs of my patients struggling with treatment resistant depression, post-traumatic stress disorders, brain injury, and addiction issues. Inspired by the research that was emerging on the efficacy of ketamine in these areas, I trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) with Phil Wolfson (editor of the Ketamine Papers and international expert on ketamine therapy and research. I have since integrated KAP and medical ketamine into my medical practice with tremendous success.

Based on my broad experience with other treatment modalities, I believe that ketamine assisted psychotherapy provides patients a rare opportunity to heal from within. KAP seeks to address the deep psychological and spiritual wounds which are the core of many illnesses. Often, the experience helps patients who have struggled for years to “fix what is wrong with themselves” a direct experience of their whole, healthy, and connected Self. Used in conjunction with the help of a skilled and supportive therapist, it can act as a catalyst to empower the life changes necessary to sustain wellbeing and healing.

As a result of the COVID pandemic, medical and mental health professionals are now challenged to address a profound national mental health crisis and to become more effective and innovative in our approach to mental health issues.  I am extremely grateful to partner with the Woodstock Therapy Center to offer medical ketamine and KAP services in response to that challenge.
